AMSTERDAM
25-28TH AUGUST 2007
25-28TH AUGUST 2007
PEOPLE ON TOUR: Nathan, Anna, Phil, Kim, Nic and GB
By far one of the most entertaining destinations we have visited.
We arrived early hours on Saturday morning and headed straight to our 6 bedded room - bunks it was this weekend!!! - very nice accommodation and reasonably priced.
It was a beautiful day so first on the cards was a canal cruise and a perfect way to sit and take in the city. Then to a couple of drinks and lunch overlooking the canals at an Irish Pub.
After not a lot of persuading it was time to head to the local coffee shop for a couple of tasty cakes - not quite your average cake your Grandma used to make it has a strange effect on the mind!!!!! - anyhow it was a crazy night after that but we had a lot of fun.....
Sunday we headed to see the Windmills about 20 mins out of Amsterdam and indulged in a spot of shopping - picked ourselves up some nice warm slippers which look like cloggs - much more comfortable than the real thing. I was somewhat disappointed when Nathan decided he was not going to be part of the gang and opted not to purchase a pair when all 5 of us did!!!!
Sunday night - "THE RED LIGHT DISTRICT" and a sex show! - mmmm - we were somewhat amazed at the talent in the windows - not your average prostitute, these women are model material. Had to pull Nathan into line as it appeared he enjoyed walking 5 metres in front of me.... he got the attention he was looking for anyway!.
Monday - our last day... we were going to hire bikes but when you have put a bond down each of 150 euro it kinda puts you off. Nathan and myself separated from the group and had a good look around and a rest in the park.
Nathan boarded his plane off to India for 2 weeks he assures me the free food at the airport lounge is all good. - poor me :( - off to Bath with Laura for the weekend. (not actually Bath with Laura but the location south of England)!!!
Then hanging out for the next trip once Simon and Cara arrive!!!
Until the next update
xoxo
