Greenwich Park/Temple Walkie and the London Marathon

Well, the last few weekends we have seen some beautiful weather. Last Saturday we packed up a picnic, a few beers and a 99p footy ball and headed with a group of around 15 people to Greenwich park where we consumed large amounts of alcohol, which was aided by the fact that Liz that worked at raidoworks asked Anna to be her bridesmaid, so they thought it would be a suitable occasion to celebrate, and that they did . It was around 25 degrees and in typical Anna fashion she neglected to put sun block on and got slightly red. After soaking up the sun we headed to the walkabout at Temple to watch the cricket and get rotten on snake bites. We caught the night bus home with Hitcho who stayed the night which was lucky as both Anna and myself fell asleep on the bus. Sunday dawned another great day so we had a BBQ with a few mates in our wee courtyard.

This weekend was another great weekend weather wise. Saturday we went with Luke, Dan, Jody and Blair to a few markets then caught up with Phil and Kim for a cheeky beer on the Thames. I then spent the next hour trying to locate a rugby ball, while Anna, Phil and Kim went and got some drinks and nibbles. We sat outside again and had a pass of the rugby ball and yarned with the intentions of having a quite night due to an early start required this morning to get up and watch the marathon, but it ended up a rather messy affair.

Today we headed off around 730 to go and watch Luke in the marathon. In typical fashion the tube broke down and left lots of runners having to walk about 5 miles to the start line. We followed the race and watched from 4 places which was just awesome. The atmosphere was something I have not experienced in any sporting event, the entire 26 miles is lined several people deep with live bands, drums, bells and 36,000 runners. Luke was in fine form and did a 3:15 time which was very impressive given the heat. Afterwards we went out for lunch in Putney sat in the sun and enjoyed a few quites whilst Luke entertained us with a few stories.

We have a couple of bank holidays coming up shortly so are looking at heading to Europe for a couple of trips which we are both really looking forward too. Anna started her new job last week working at a law firm, she has got a pretty cruisy number and a fairly short commute so is happy enough.

Our favourite place St Ives -

HAYLE - a local pub was the only place we could find accomodation on our 2nd night - it was about 9pm when we arrived to this hick town after a few drinks with the locals and a couple of chats with the 79 year old security guard who suggested I had enough to drink - whatever!!!! We retired to our shared room where Phil and Kim had the bunks and Nathan decided it would be a great idea to dive bomb the bed which split in two as you can see. Nevertheless after having a strange sleep on a angle we decided to not tell and depart with jimming up the bed in the best possible way and the reponse 'don't anyway go near it - I mean sit, put a towel on it, I mean anything and lets get the hell out of here before we are found out!!!!!!!!!

LANDSEND

Cara - especially for you we caught the CARBOAT!!!!!!!
Certainly no Romeo's to be found at this castle..... this was our first castle we have visited....very exciting.

We stayed at this nice Bed and Breakfast in the first photo where the boys were treated to some London Country Girls, the boys were somewhat scared off when the girls suggeted that for an extra 15 pounds the girls would come with there room.....then somewhat put off when they discovered the guys had girlfriends in the car!

WE EVEN VISITED CHRISTCHURCH ON OUR JOURNEY!

We went to Poole which was amazing - felt like we were in Europe - everyone had headed for the beach in togs and stuff while we were still in winter wollies!!!!
